WaveTrak WMS

System Features

Real-Time, On-Line Information

WaveTrakSMT updates all information in its files as changes occur. Inquiries from both PCs and RF terminals access up-to-the-second, real-time inventory data, order status information, location information, feeder location and content information, user status information and more.

System Directed Activities

WaveTrakSMT uses portable Radio Frequency (RF) terminals to direct material retrieval, job setup, feeder position verification, job break down, and replenishment functions in real-time, optimizing human resources. All of these real-time system directed activities respond immediately to changing conditions and priorities on the SMT floor. WaveTrakSMT can direct any or all activities in a paper-based mode if required, using printed reports, pick lists, picking labels, etc. WaveTrakSMT can also direct some operations using paper and some using RF terminals, as needed.

Bar Code Readers

WaveTrakSMT uses bar codes and R.F bar code scanners to identify, locate, set up, verify and track inventory/feeders, orders, locations, replenishment material, users, etc. Bar coding maximizes operator efficiency and virtually eliminates data entry errors. Information that is bar coded includes, but is not limited to, Item IDís, PID numbers, work order numbers, feeders, and locations.

Multiple SMT Lines and Job Verification

WaveTrakSMT can be designed to manage multiple SMT manufacturing lines with each line fully defined to the machine and then feeder position level. The system will also respond to and manage various machine types as required. System flags provide the required knowledge to determine the feeder type (double/single), size, and then machine type that feeders must be placed upon during the set up process. This capability provides absolute verification of proper job set up.

Before discovering WaveTrak, we used to have a standard stockroom operation including shelving units, bins and 7,000 parts arranged in part number sequence. Within two weeks after installing the warehouse control system, we immediately more than doubled our productivity going from 250 lines per person to an average of 600 lines per person.
